The Ultimate Covenant of God Chapter Five

Chapter Five

Housing the Ultimate Covenant

The title of this chapter may sound strange to you however; its purpose is a vital part for Israel, the church, and the last days regarding God’s New Covenant. Yes, to many it would be clear if they would respond with this question: what is housing the Ultimate Covenant? Well to addresses this question properly we need to consider these two major issues the first is regarding the modern day Body of Christ or the church in today’s modern generation of how they interpret God’s New Covenant. The second is the church rejecting the New Covenant for the lack of understanding of the why and the how of the New Covenant? Then this brings to mind another question is the modern day church just interpreting the New Covenant as grace and grace alone as the doctrine of the church alone?

Housing the New Covenant or Rightly Discerning the New Covenant

How does the Body of Christ house discerning the New Covenant? Maybe a better way of addressing this question: How should members of the Body of Christ approach and distinguish the housing of the New Covenant? Even yet another question is the New Covenant emotional? These questions deal with truth that the Body of Christ needs to explore when dealing with attitudes, as well as examines how to transform their mind in life in the New Covenant. Paul wrote to the church at Corinth and he stated “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” (1 Corinthians 12:1 KJV) In like manner regarding the New Covenant I would not want you my brothers and sisters in Christ to be ignorant about the will of God for you in the New Covenant. For I believe that the prophetic word from the prophet Jeremiah addresses the terms and the conditions of the New Covenant are for Israel, the church, and the last days that God’s New Covenant is given unto us to receive the spiritual endorsement by putting His Spirit in every one of us that He has called. By every member I mean a church with the gifts of the Spirit or the New Covenant that transformed their minds in the sovereignty of God’s New Covenant.

It is not only here in 1 Corinthians 12 were Paul writes of the gifts of the Spirit in addition, Paul writes about the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. All of these are vital parts of the New Covenant to the whole Body of Christ or the church, Israel, and the last days. These gifts and fruits of the Spirit reveal God and Christ as one body and yet having many members and that each are equally essential in the New Covenant and the Body of Christ.

The gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit are given for the manifestation of God and gives insight to make order out of disorder. I further believe what Paul states here about “no man speaking by the Spirit of God called Jesus accursed” the change when we are receiving the New Covenant has been given by and through the Holy Spirit. Just because someone a member of a local church does not really does not mean they are a Christian or that they believe in the New Covenant the way you do. Moreover, let me give you this warning and reason you need the full and complete understanding of the New Covenant. For Satan will do everything he can do to duplicate the New Covenant, if not undo or outdo anything good that comes from God. Furthermore, the Holy Scriptures are full of illustration discerning what is true and what is false.

Then in this New Covenant we cannot exclude the five-fold ministry which is the office of ministry for equipping the saints with God’s New Covenant. These offices are God and Christ gifts to the Body of Christ or church which are the provisions Christ has made for the warfare of the church. The Lord desire is to raise the church to its highest level in the New Covenant to make her complete as a glorious bride adorned for her groom. The source of these gifts, fruits, and offices and for the distribution that mankind might observe and receive their commission in the New Covenant. Therefore, we must contrast the principles of Israel, the church, and the last days to make ready the Coming of our Lord to claim His bride. More explicitly the details of each of these gifts, fruits, and offices must be set in the highest standards as a duty to God and others.

The prophetic language and writings of the apostles contrast every Christian Jew or Gentile to walk in the transformed mind of the New Covenant of what a Christian should be and what a Christian should not be. According to the new revelation of the New Covenant there are obligations to walk worthy of the calling wherewith ye are called Ephesians 4:1. Paul is also addressing Christian unity in their calling and walk in the New Covenant.

It would be well to note why it is very beneficial for the Body of Christ to study the instructions that has been given from the time of Moses when he was setting up the tabernacle or the place of meeting Exodus 25-20. We find much of the details of our worship today from the details God instructed Moses to put into the tabernacle just because it was the meeting place of God’s people. God has put many of these details in the New Covenant for when He puts His Spirit in us it is His meeting place with us. Therefore, it is the same God that instructed Moses what to put in the tabernacle as the meeting place. If God has put His Spirit in us then this means God has established His meeting place and that we are the vessel of that meeting place.

You and I did not merit it by ourselves it is only by God merit and chose that we would be the vessels of His Holy Spirit or the dwelling place of His Spirit. Paul writes what kind of a dwelling place God expects in Romans 12:1 for this is what Paul states: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1 NKJV) Moreover Paul also writes to them at Corinth about the fact that of being a spiritual temple and of the Spirit indwelling in the temple 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. Again here is another standard or principle that God requires that we achieve holiness for the Spirit of God to dwell in.

Then when we make our bodies a place for housing the Holy Spirit then Paul writes that in our weaknesses the Spirt of God helps us in our weaknesses. Paul also goes on to say that we do not know what to pray but the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. The Holy Spirit foes this by His groaning which cannot uttered by us. This is another reason for us to house the Holy Spirit that the Spirit can work for us in His groaning. Furthermore, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are the distinguishing marks of a Christian for without the Spirit is the positive proof that we are not of Christ and take heed these should be fearful words to the Body of Christ. Another reason for addressing this line of thinking for at one time we were all subjects of the kingdom of darkness, a slave unto the enemy of God. It is by the power of God through Christ Jesus that we have becomes heirs to the kingdom of heaven and are no longer under the ruler of darkness.

Observe that the Spirit of God and the New Covenant go together if we have His Son as our redeemer then we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Again if we have not the Spirit of God then we are not part of Christ or members in the Body of Christ. Yes I know that this sound harsh, however, if the association with God Spirit is not visible which shows the vital union of the indwelling of the Spirit the Spirit does not dwell in the heart of man. Let me state it in this manner: The plain expression and declaration of this wondrous subject of housing the Holy Spirit shows we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and are housing the Ultimate Covenant. Without the gift of God’s New Covenant or the Spirit indwelling in us is the crowning love of and mercy of our Father in Heaven or the Kingdom of God.

The problems are in the effort of the flesh

I state this because within the Body of Christ there are so many cases of professing Christians who are puffed up by the sense of what they are supposed to be doing for the Lord God and His Son, that they do not earnestly study the Holy Scriptures in regards to the New Covenant. Furthermore, in today’s modern Church they are so occupied with the fleshly efforts to win souls for Christ that they have move away from the deep need for their own spiritual anointing of the Holy Spirit. In addition, leaders of Christian are concerned in gaining and multiplying other Christian workers that the quantity, not the quality is their main consideration.

The Need

There is a vast need for spiritual discernment in the Body of Christ today for all of the fleshly activities have multiplied, and the spiritual power is being lost. Furthermore, blessing are being lost or withheld because there is no improvement in the saints today. Until we the full Body of Christ recognize that we are entirely dependent upon the New Covenant of God’s Spirit in us and that it must operate in us the blessing cannot reach us the way God intended. Until we learn that it is not by might but by the Spirit of the Lord or another way of stating it is that until the Spirit of God is honored, sought, and counted upon, we the Body of Christ will have a spiritual drought.

Then there is the Personality of the Holy Spirit

If the main body of the church was asked to state in a comprehensive statement of what constitutes the understanding of what the Lord’s people were to communicate about the Spirit of God would they hesitate? The work and ministry of the Holy Spirit is an essential element for life of the soul to gain eternal life. It is also important for us all to have a reverent and prayerful life as a member of the Body of Christ or as a child of God. It is also good to keep in mind that there is no spiritual good done or communicated to anyone but only by the Holy Spirit for it is the Spirit that works in us. How necessary is it for us to be instructed by the Holy Spirit in the Holy Scriptures that we understand the will of God concerning Him. There is a great spiritual abuse that has been done in all generations up to this present day. Moreover, there has been a great spiritual ignorance that is widely growing throughout the world today and therefore, what is prevailing is for the need of the Body of Christ to set forth it best efforts for a prompt study of the Holy Spirit and the New Covenant.

Even yet today there are many people professing to be Christians who are flatly denying the personality of the Holy Spirit. However, I will not write about this abuse in any great detail only that they are spiritual seducers of the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of God that was poured out on them on the Day of Pentecost Acts 2. One of the traps of the enemy is to take away your wisdom and understanding that you are God’s personal property and that the Spirit of God has come because you were brought with a price 1 Corinthians 6:20.

Now in are search in an act of understanding there are a couple of things we need to addresses: first is in the distinguishing of property you find in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “you are not your own” now when I first read this text of scripture it seems unusual to think that I was not my own or my own property, then the Spirit of God said you did not create yourself and therefore, you belong to God. You will notice that here in 1 Corinthians 6 that Paul is dealing with the sanctity of the body or the impurity that condemned the body because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Then Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12:11 that the work of “the Spirit works all things, distributing to each one individually as He wills” now shows the influence of the Holy Spirit of what He gives to each individual.

The Deity of the Holy Spirit

From what I have just stated it should be clear evidence that the Holy Spirit has a conscious, intelligence and a personal being of the Godhead. However, my present concern is that we the Body of Christ impress upon the mind and demonstrate the deity of the Holy Spirit and His personality of having an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. To say it in this manner to have the deity of the Spirit or not to have the deity of the Spirit that is the question. In addition, what rank does the Holy Spirit hold in your life? The Holy Spirit is either possessing you with the distinction of His personality with the ineffable unity of showing that the Godhead is the essence of Their Deity in your life.

Moreover, there should be nothing intermediate between you and the Deity of the Godhead for these are the Deity of the New Covenant. Within the world today there is this one issue with everybody they want proof and it is no different when it comes to the Godhead or the trinity. The proof that most individuals ask for is prove that they are individuals and each of their existence in the Holy Scriptures. One of the proofs that I know is about the Holy Spirit is written in the book of Acts 5:3 “But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit” a verse that clearly states that the Holy Spirit exists and that the Spirit revealed unto Peter the lie of Ananias. One of the sure proofs is in this fact that God created us in the Godhead image and in Their likeness and therefore they can dwell is us. Again Paul is clear what he write to them at Corinth that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

The New Covenant Offices of the Holy Spirit

The significant of the New Covenant office is the chief office to glorify Christ first and second to devote Himself to the work of teaching the things of God to them that God has called. Consider what the apostle John wrote in John 16:14-15 “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said the He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:14-15 NKJV) Observe what John states about the office of the Holy Spirit the first is what I just stated to glorify Christ and the second is to take what is Christ and declare it unto us. One of the ways we might interpret this text is Christ is saying that the Spirit is to show us what it takes to glorify Christ.

In today’s modern world and church that there is so much satanic invasion in the church and you are no match for it under your own human power. We really have one hope in this infested spiritual environment and the Holy Scriptures reveal or identifies it as the Holy Spirit. It is therefore, I can state without a shadow of doubt that the Spirit of God is the eternal power with unlimited power of the Spirit of God put in us. Furthermore, we can say that the Father in heaven is the eternal mind, eternal word, and His Spirit is the eternal manifestation of God’s New Covenant. In addition, we the Body of Christ can say that there is not anything that can escape the mind of God or His Divine thoughts and moreover there is nothing that can escape the Presence of the Holy Spirit for God said in the last days He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh if this is the case how can we escape.

Let us consider some of the things that the Spirit can do for Israel, the church, and the last days. One of the things that the Holy Spirit can give us is the spirit of truth and to my understanding this is the gift of discerning of spirits which would reveal the evil power of the rulers of darkness. Another way of interpreting the spirit of truth is that it is the Divine revelation to help us recognize the spirit of conviction in our lives. In the Body of Christ today the Holy Spirit is an all-encompassing part of the Godhead in the Body of Christ as well as the entire universe. Furthermore, I believe that there is not a place that every member of the Body of Christ goes that the Holy Spirit is not present. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit that makes a devoted Christian feels and believes its presence on any given day.

God’s New Covenant of His law and eternal truth cannot fail because the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth present in our lives today. Every part of the Holy Scriptures is both natural and spiritual and anyone who thinks otherwise I believe that they feel they have all the answers for God and God’s New Covenant come to us through the Holy Spirit. It is in the revelation of the spirit of truth that adds a powerful dimension to the Body of Christ and those who walk in the New Covenant. For if we consider what Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus and told them to put on the whole armor of God and part of that armor is the sword of the Spirit Ephesians 6:17. This is just one of the tools needed in the ministry as well as our Christian walk of faith.

Therefore, another tool that is essential is the spirit of revelation for this tool is what opens the depth of our minds to comprehend the mystery and hidden things of God’s word. This brings to mind the gifts of wisdom and knowledge given by the same Spirit for Israel, the church, and the last days. This are two of the gifts that that helps reveal the hidden treasures of God’s New Covenant, in addition, there is no way anyone individual can possibility gain understanding of the Holy Scriptures without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is never lack in bringing what is Christ to the Body of Christ for spiritual conviction into the mind of man’s conscience.

Then in housing the Ultimate Covenant there needs to be the spirit of conversion that convicts that conditions of mankind and reveals there is a need for transforming their ways. For remember what our Lord said to Nicodemus “Jesus answered, “truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5 NASB) Our Lord without any doubt show that there is the need for the work of conversion by the Spirit. The Body of Christ today is full of unconverted men and women which are convinced that just a little religion is sufficient.

Going back to the book of Hebrews where Paul writes “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon a better promise” (Hebrews 8:6 KJV) It must also be made known that this New Covenant could not have taken place without the death of Christ. One could say that this was not a simple covenant arrangement extended to the House of Israel and the House of Judah it was God’s perfect will to grant this New Covenant that Israel, the church, and the last days would have life, and life everlasting.

The indwelling of the New Covenant

To bring out the reality of the indwelling of the New Covenant is just to state it simple and that is God’s New Covenant is the Spirit of God and therefore, one might call uniquely Christian. There is much said to this effect that the Old Testament believers had such a relationship with the Holy Spirit, however, in some strange way I believe that the Spirit of God was in their mist. The New Covenant is God’s provision made available in His Son and fell upon the Body of Christ on the Day of Pentecost Acts 2. In using the Holy Scriptures in the New Testament Paul writes to the church at Corinth in 1 Corinthians 3:16 “know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV) If I understand this text of scripture right that mankind is God’s temple. Let us acknowledge the Holy presence of God that dwells in us.

In addition, you will find in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 where Paul writes “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, ye are not your own? 20 For ye are brought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV) We Christians today should be spiritual proud because God has given us the law of the heart. However, there is a whole lot more than the law of the heart in the area of human life. Furthermore, we are just one body we are the temple of God and God’s Holy Spirit that dwells in us. This spiritual knowledge that we have knowing we have a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.

What is the logical indwelling of God, His Spirit, and His Son working in each of our bodies? If we have truly received the law of the heart then we have receive the New Covenant and our hearts will honor the New Covenant. One of the spiritual problems going on in the Body of Christ today is all about rights and the term what about my rights? This line of thinking for Christian is rebellion against God and God’s New Covenant and God’s Holy Scriptures. According to what Paul state in verse 20 of 1 Corinthians 6 that we are not our own and that we were brought with a price should tell us that this natural body and our spiritual body belongs to God and to put it in modern day terms “He owns us period.” Therefore, because we belong to God we should follow the example of our Lord when He said in the Garden that the Lord says “not my will but thy will be done” Luke 22:42.

In the last day church ministry of the Holy Spirit will be because of many acts of disobedience and therefore many Christians unconnected themselves from God’s New Covenant. However, there are many within the Body of Christ would disagree with this line of thought. Let me address it in this manner: Yes they all come to church; yes they all partake of communion which was inaugurated by Christ on the night of Passover where Christ said for us to do this in remembrance of Him. The point is many Christians today feel that the New Covenant is Just the Holy Communion when Christ said this is the New Covenant, however, it is more much more.

Christian Abuser Twisting God’s New Covenant to Justify Their Abuse

How can Christians claim they are housing the Holy Spirit when they are abuser twisting God’s New Covenant to justify their sin of abuse of God’s New Covenant? To many of us in the Body of Christ the word “Christian” and “abuser” just does not belong together in the Body of Christ. Yet how many times have you heard of leaders within the Body of Christ who have been are abusive to their children and spouse? Then on the other hand, we see and read about how many upstanding church going men and women of God who turns to crime and child molester? However, there is one scripture that comes to mind found in the gospel of John “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who are the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.” (1 John 3:6-10 NIV) One of the main points of logic I get out of these texts of scriptures there are those who technically call themselves a “Christian” but are not Spirit-filled Christian. These individuals are most open to this really by denying with this convincing word that a “Christian” could not possibly be abusive are usually none other than the abusive Christian and therefore are the child of the devil.

There is one thing that never crossed my mind when I began the ministry was hearing Christian men and women being abusive of one another as well as themselves. However, as I continued in my ministry and my walk of faith, I found out one important thing about out of what you do, who or already knows about what you do; for in the words of our Lord makes it clear: “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.” (Luke 17:3 NASB) Therefore, I say this that you look for opportunity to find means to discuss the issue of forgiveness to your family and others. In addition, many times these individuals will be quite candid about how they abuse a loved one or someone else and I would feel safe is saying that they will have a long list of excuses why!

What I have found to be so intriguing about being a pastor and having exchange on evil behavior with Christian, or ex-Christians, abuser is that he or she has a real working knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, and often he or she use or twist the Holy Scriptures to suit their own purpose and understanding of the Holy Scriptures. These individuals will pick and choose the scriptures they think or feel that will justify their means and conveniently omit scriptures that would condemn their actions. Moreover they will use what knowledge they have to bring out their point of how a Christian is to act as well as the appearance a Christian should have and the fruits they should bear.

I have stated all of this to state what our Lord said to His disciples in the Sermon on the Mount from the gospel of Matthew: “Beware of False prophets, which come to you in sheep clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bringeth forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth fruit good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have I not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Mathew 7:15-23 KJV) God and Christ Jesus never intended for any man or woman to be an abuser of His Holy Word or of others.
