Four Vital Bible Study Key

Four Vital Bible Study Key “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth”

Now in this fourth vital key for a self-study Bible study is truly vital for all Christians and leaders within the church today. The logic for stating it, is for this reason for within the modern-day church today which that I truly believe that we are living in a world that the world requires them to hurry, hurry, therefore, takes its toll on their time for studying the word of God and therefore, how can they rightly make judgments regarding the word of God?

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

Luke 7:43 said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged

Luke 20:21 know that thou sayest and teachest rightly,

Study and Observe: Therefore, let us consider further in this manner that the care of every minister and Christian should be within themselves the must be to study so that they approve to show themselves unto God, that they may be accepted by Him. In order to do so, there must be constant care and industrial study of individual leader or Christian: Study to show thyself such a one, a workman that needs not be ashamed. Ministers must be workmen; they have work to do, where they must take pains in it. Workmen that are unskillful, unfaithful, or lazy, have need to be ashamed; but those who mind their business, and keep to their work, are workmen or ministers that need not be ashamed. And what is their work as Christian leaders? It is not about rightly to divide the word of truth. Not to invent a new gospel, but rightly to divide the gospel that has been committed to their trust. To speak terror to those to whom terror belongs, comfort to whom comfort; to give everyone his portion in due season, Mt. 24:45.

1. The word which ministers preach is the word of truth, for the author of it is the God of truth.
2. It requires great wisdom, study, care, to divide this word of truth rightly; Timothy must study in order to do this well. Each and every minister must take heed of that which would be a hindrance to him in his work.
When you truly study the scriptures you will find the use of “word” from Genesis to Revelation.

A saying, speech “emer”
Proverbs 1:2, 8:26; Isaiah 32:7; Hosea 6:5
1 saying, speech “omer”
Psalms 68:11; Hab 3”9
2 A saying, speech, “emrah”
Deut 33:9 they have observed thy word, and kept
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God (is) pure: he (is) a shield
Isaiah 5:24 despised the word of the Holy one of Israel
3 A word, matter, thing “dabar”

Now above we have looked at three Hebrew words which describe “word” and I know that there is at least ten more Hebrew and Greek words to describe “word”.

“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” NKJV 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

There are many individuals with some desire to be religious, but not enough desire to dig into read and study the Bible. Many of these individual just find a man or woman, a preacher, and trust them. Whatever they say, they depend upon; they in their opinion “their man of God,” in a sense beyond the biblical. They believe what he says; trust his or her answers to every question, resting the salvation of their souls in them. They still read and study the Bible some, but always take their word. Not a good idea because no man is infallible. Regardless of how much you love someone, that affection does not make them infallible. Men and women may prove themselves to be educated, eloquent, charming and able to fill relationship with people. Yet they remain fallible, capable of error.

Those who search the Scriptures daily, to see if what they were hearing was true to God’s Word (Acts 17:11). John and Peter both warned of false teachers, and Jesus said they may come to us in sheep’s clothing (Matt. 7:15; 1 John. 4:1; 2 Pet. 2:1). John said our duty is to “test the spirits,” and Paul said: “Test everything. Hold on to the good.” (1 Thess. 5:21). There is one body of religious instruction that should govern all that we believe, teach and practice. That is, the Word of God. Nothing should be accepted as true; nothing should be practiced or recommended – unless it is taught in the Word of God. Each individual must take this obligation seriously.

Prove all Things

In order to confirm prophesying of any kind or teaching of the spiritual gifts consider Paul’s instruction stated here in this scripture “test all things.” My point is that Paul told this church in Thessalonica to “test all things.” See Acts 17:11; Exodus 3:1-6, 4:19; Hebrews 2:3-4.

Examination of the evidence
We must examine that which is presented to us.
No one man or group of people is above examination
See 1 John 4:1; 1 Peter 3:15; John 17:17

Reject False Teaching

The point is to hold fast to what the scripture states and reject that which does not agree with the scripture in both the Old and New Testaments. In fact it is our obligation to rightly divide the word of truth.
See Galatians 1:6-9; 2 John 9-11; Revelation 2:10

Let me be so bold as to state that some Christians in Christ are too lazy to “test all things” and too irresolute to hold fast what is good sound doctrine.
Do you test all things in the word of God regarding Christianity?
See Acts 17:11; Isaiah 8:19-22
