Beware of the Coming Days Chapter Ten

Now in Revelation 12-13 we find in John’s vision the spiritual conflict between the kingdom of heaven and this earth. Yet regarding what is being written beware of the coming days pass the word in the Body of Christ today it is the spiritual conflict between the with Satan and the Body of Christ. Therefore, I must of course state that I further believe that the whole book of Revelation was written for the church and each and every member in that Body of Christ. Furthermore, I also believe that it was written to show the Body of Christ the persecution that is to come and therefore help us to see that harshness that is to come. Later in the book of Revelation you will find that this spiritual conflict leads to the final fall of the dragon and of Babylon in Revelation 17. The more I research the book of Revelation to understand the coming days, the more I personally see the Revelation of Jesus Christ as a need to understand more deeply the signs of the coming days.

There are seven important key elements we need to consider in these two chapters of Revelation. The first key element is the woman clothed with the sun Revelation 12:1-2, and the second key element is the great red dragon Revelation 12:3-4, the third key element is the man-child Revelation 12:5-6. The fourth key element is Michael the Archangel and the war in heaven Revelation 12:7-9, the fifth key element is the remnant of the woman seed Revelation 12:17. The sixth is key element is the beast that comes up out of the sea Revelation 13:1-10, and the seventh key element is the beast that comes up out of the earth Revelation 13:11-17. If you are a devoted student or interpreter of the Holy Scripture you would say that for each of these seven elements that it would take and write a small book regarding the information that they contain.

We find in these two chapters many things that the Lord is describing the coming days of which the apostle John has seen which will take place in the coming days. In addition, I further believe that these key elements or symbols are very important key factors which the Lord is unveiling about Israel, the church, and the last days. If we truly consider these elements in a truth of this fact that what God reveals in heaven unto His servants, I believe that it portrays a reality of truth of what will take place upon this earth in the coming days according to the book of Revelation.

Again, I must state that Revelation 12 holds many major elements regarding Israel, the church, and the last days. I state it again in this manner because for there are some very significant things which we the members of the Body of Christ must take place here on earth as well as with the kingdom of heaven, with Israel, the church, and the last days that set the stage for a crucial conflict with the faithful who keeps the commandments of God and Christ Jesus. In addition, it also well to note that this chapter here in the book of Revelation that it is filled with many symbolic meanings. Therefore, let us begin with this understanding that there are many different interpretations regarding chapter 12 here in the book of Revelation over whom the woman represents, Mary, Israel, or the church. However, most agree that the red dragon is the antichrist or Satan, and that the man child is Christ.

When looking back at the scriptures in the Old Testament were it frequently refers to Israel as the wife of God must remember that it also refers to what one might interpret that Israel was an unfaithful wife to her husband. In addition, one should also remember that the source of blessing which has come from God, today we find in the Holy Scriptures, Christ, Prophets, and the apostles. I believe that it is well to note this about the woman clothed with the sun and has a crown with twelve stars and standing on the moon brings out the reality of a woman clothed with the garment of God Almighty. Yes, during my years of ministry, I have heard it stated that God has rejected Israel and everything is about the church of today. One might also interpret it in this manner that the world despises the House of Israel or hold Israel at low esteem; however, she is the wife of God. Therefore, it should be obvious that out of this woman should come the man-child that would save the world.

“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” (Revelation 12:1-2 KJV)

Yes, this sound like an altogether different prophetic word to describe Israel, however, this is the second time a woman is mentioned of four women in the book of Revelation. The First woman was mentioned in Revelation 2:20 which was Jezebel, the second is Israel Revelation 12:1, now the third is the woman dressed in scarlet which represent the apostate church Revelation 17:1, and the fourth is the wife of the Lamb the true Body of Christ Revelation 19:7.

In the Old Testament it frequently refers to Israel as a woman. The prophet Isaiah speaks of Israel being in bondage as a woman with child Isaiah 26:17; 66:7. One might interpret that the woman clothed with the sun is symbolical sign and this would be true, however, what is she a symbol of? Back during the early church, and the Roman Empire the Roman Catholic Church made the woman to be the Virgin Mary. Now when we consider the crown with twelve stars on her head, I believe that this is the symbol of the twelve tribes of Israel. One might interpret it this way the twelve stars are the twelve patriarchs or the tribes which the Lord descended from. Now concerning the birth of the woman and the symbolic meaning one might interpret that it could be that out of Israel came our salvation from God.

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his head. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” (Revelation 12:3-4 KJV)

The apostle John states the second great wonder which appeared in heaven a great red dragon which stood before the woman waiting for the child to be born so it could devour it. Now you can find a similar account recorded in the book of Daniel 7:7-8, 24 and Revelation 13:1 therefore on could say that this is the Roman Empire. In today’s modern world we have seen from the movies which are made that this great red dragon would become a great fire-breathing dragon and to make it more fantastic add seven heads, with ten horns. However, biblical speaking these texts of scriptures does not mean what is brought out it the movies which are to create entertainment for the world. My point is this they make the dragon to be a monster, is that not what they do? This is not what the apostle is bringing out in his vision about the red dragon.

Now it is well for you to remember when it comes right down to describing or identifying the beast here in this text of scripture which is called the great red dragon you must consider that the beast appears to hold these identities by many other interpreters of the scriptures. The first the beast can be called the devil, the old serpent, or Satan in addition the dragon is written in the Old Testament and one reference to these names where that the prophet Ezekiel states that Pharaoh was called the great dragon that stood in a stream Ezekiel 29:3. Furthermore, there is a great deal of symbolism associated with Egypt throughout the pages of the Holy Scriptures. However, we must also remember that there is the connection with kindred evil beings found in the book of Job: Job 26:12-13.

Yes, we can point out the many scriptures from the Old Testament that tells of the birth of Christ and the days of the Roman Empire and how Israel was under persecution from the Roman Empire because of the prophetic word that was written by the prophets like Isaiah and Micah regarding the Lord’s birth. What I find that is so significant is that found in verse 9 is that the tail of the dragon took one third of the stars from the sky with him which I will write more about later.

“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” (Revelation 12:5-6 KJV)

This man-child which was brought forth was to rule nations I believe was none other than the Lord Jesus Christ for the prophet Isaiah gave the prophetic word of the Lord coming as well as the prophet Micah. This text of scripture holds these remarkable events recorded in the Holy Scriptures namely, Jesus birth, His ascension, and His Second Coming.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:7-9 KJV)

Therefore, if there was war in heaven which means there was a great conflict in heaven and Michael and his angels prevail over that old serpent and cast him out how much more can we prevail over that old serpent the devil in the coming days because we have the power of God and Christ indwelling in us. The name “that old serpent” goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden and the fall of man. Moreover, all of this chapter 12 is about conflicts especially about the spiritual warfare that goes on in with Israel, the church, and the last days. What I believe is at the opening of the seals to this chapter 12 relates a series of conflicts that will take place and I also believe that we are living in the seals.

Now let us draw our attention primarily to this fact of importance that if Satan waged war in the kingdom of heaven how much more is he going to wage war against the Body of Christ in the coming days for he knows his time is running short. My logic for this example is to relate that there is spiritual warfare going on in the very presence of God which I further believe that by God’s Spirit He gives unto us the very insight to see what has been prophesied by the prophets of the Old Testament as well as by the Lord and His apostles of the New Testament.

For example, that “Michael shall stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1 KJV) Therefore, here in Revelation 12 one might interpret that this is the marks or signs of the great tribulation.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13 And when the dragon saw the he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which had brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and having the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:10-17 KJV)

It is here in these texts of scriptures that we see the persecution that comes up on Israel and the remnant of the woman’s seed which is the Body of Christ or the church. There is much that I could write about what the Holy Scriptures to states about the dragon and what he has already cause to come upon the Body of Christ. However, what we the members of the Body of Christ needs to remember in the coming days that we must stand more strongly on the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ are Lord. One of the greatest things that a Christian can do to combat the coming days that the beast and the dragon will bring upon them is to walk and talk the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ for this our protection from the beast and the dragon. In addition, we must keep are garment clean by washing it in the blood of the Lamb.

In chapter 12 we study the conflict between the dragon and heaven and the dragon was cast out of heaven and the woman clothed with the sun. Here in Revelation 13 we will direct our attention to the evil character of the beast and his satanic power and being a world dictator as well as destroying the people within the Body of Christ.
Therefore, let me also say that this day is fast approaching when the beast will rise up out of the sea to destroy the word of God and the testimony of Jesus within the world.

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (Revelation 13:1-2 KJV)

What I read from most commentaries is that the sea represents the Gentiles nations of this world which the beast rise up out of. In addition, they also agree that the dragon or Satan rise up to wage war against all Christians in the coming days more than he has ever done before for he knows his time is short. Furthermore, we see here in the Apostle John’s vision the beginning of the final conflict between the dragon and the kingdom of heaven and the members of the Body of Christ.

It is well to take note how the various parts of the beast is mentioned here are also mentioned in the book of Daniel of a great beast Daniel 7:3. When we consider “the sands of the sea” then one might interpret that this is the position of the earth where John was, and where he stood when the vision of the first beast appeared unto him. Now many other interpreters of this book of Revelation says that this is where the dragon stood, however, I believe that this is not possible for this reason that it is the vision of John not the dragon. Yet let me add this thought if it was the dragon standing on the sands of the see then where is John regarding this vision of what the Lord was to show him?

Yes, in verse two it speaks of the name of blasphemy written on the heads of the beast and this name is against God and God’s Word. Now in addition, when we compare what was written by the prophet Daniel, we compare the power and authority of the beast recorded in Daniel and Revelation that rise up out of the sea. You can see and study that the beast and the dragon is out to destroy the word of God and Israel, and the church in the coming days. Yes, there has been movies made about the rapture and the coming days yet the one thing they will never be able to portray is the wrath of God that is coming in the days ahead.

However, let me say that after you study about the beast and the dragon you must further study about the mark of the beast and what it means about taking this mark and what you will lose by taking this mark. Yes, there has been many books written about the beast and what the mark of the beast is regarding how the mark will be place upon people in that day. I state this because there is much discourse over how the mark will be put upon people in those days. Yes, there then are the seven last plagues in Revelation 16 and then there is the fall of Babylon and the great whore or harlot found in Revelation 17. Yes, we must not forget the last and final battle between the Lord and Satan and Satan army. Yes, all of these things will take place in the coming days.
